It is definitely hard for a parent to understand why fate has given them a child who has a disability. Martin Bohm was widowed after his wife was killed during the September 11 attacks. He is a former journalist and a luggage handler. Now that his wife is already gone, he was left taking care of his only son, the 11-year old Jake, who happens to be mute. Because of this, Jake is having a hard time communicating with his child, especially when Jake seems to be communicating something that has to do with the present and future events.
